Dr. Stefan Frädrich is a physician, bestselling author and founder of Greator (formerly GEDANKENtanken) and Reality Upgrade. For many years he has been accompanying people in their personal development. Together with Sonja Bödecker he runs Reality Upgrade B.V., which creates space for new perspectives and intense personal experiences through retreats and coachings.
Our team of 27 coaches and companions is empathetic and committed and brings experience from many different fields: for example as psychologists, doctors, entrepreneurs or spiritual teachers.

How safe are psychedelic retreats?
Psychedelic experiences can be intense and should not take place unprepared or without guidance.
Careful preparation, a protected environment and professional guidance are decisive for safety.
Every participation is preceded by a screening, and on site you are accompanied by experienced guides and coaches, as well as doctors on the team.
How does the screening work?
After booking, we check in the screening whether taking part is right for you. For this, you receive a questionnaire by email. Your answers help us to accompany you safely and personally. They are, of course, treated confidentially.
A successfully completed screening is a prerequisite.
Questions about your health belong in this questionnaire, not in the consultation and not in the contact form.
Who is a retreat suitable for?
A retreat is particularly suitable for people who are ready to engage honestly with themselves and to allow inner processes to happen.

How safe is the trip?
For Yucatán and Quintana Roo, there is no partial travel warning from the German Federal Foreign Office (as of 29 September 2026). The place by the sea is a small, quiet fishing village without mass tourism, and the retreat venue lies secluded in the jungle. We work there with trusted hosts. The group travels together by transfer and is always accompanied by the team.

What is included in the price?
Accommodation at the Awakening Sanctuary near Tizimín and the Casa Awakening in El Cuyo, full board, cacao ceremony, temazcal, cenote meditation, ice bath and fire, guidance by the Reality Upgrade team and integration coaching, shared transfers from and to Cancún. Not included: flights to Cancún, travel insurance (we recommend travel cancellation insurance), overnight stays before and after the retreat, personal expenses.
Can I withdraw from the retreat?
You can withdraw at any time before the start. Cancellation fees then apply, graded by timing: the closer to the retreat, the higher they are. You will find the exact scale in your booking documents. We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance.
